The London Embroidery Exhibition celebrated the 250th Anniversary of Hand and Lock the renowned embroidery house located just north of Oxford Street in London.  Featuring exquisite samples from Hand & Lock’s archive as well as some impressive haute couture, the exhibition was curated by MA Fashion Curation alumni Philippa Allison, Lisa Mason, Cicely Proctor and Shirley van der Polder. Members of the public had two days to explore the rich history of the versatile craft, a regimental history of embroidery and embellishment in the British army, as well its use in fashion and arts.

Here are some images of the show, which exhibited at the Bishopsgate Institute on 12-13 July 2017.
